It is here that we welcome you to begin the greatest of journeys - as you move in your allowance to reach beyond the paradigm of “what is” and decide what you are allowed to.
Allowance as we see it, is the foundation of innovation, of courage, of change.
Post it. Tag it. Own it. Be it. You’re allowed to.
This is the voice of the allowed.
WHAT WE DO
We are developing a series of music events in the NYC region that aim to transform the way you are seen, heard and interact with each other. Music that will enrapture you, shared experiences that will allow you to participate, your voice being heard all in a curated sanctuary that will leave you relaxed, cared for and energized for tomorrow.
These events are about connection and community, supporting a new way we connect with each other and the music/musicians we love most. We aim to create a standardization in event safety, in community togetherness, and most of all a variety of events that support us as we walk in our allowance. We will dance together. We will interact with art together.
We will be nourished by healthy foods and beverages. We will know and be known by each other and the musicians we love most, creating a change in event culture that has never been done before.
WHAT WE ASK
Being allowed is not without boundaries, we consider the following:
This is not a concept for what has already been said, already been done; allowance begins what is new.
This is not a concept to reflect upon what is evidently broken or what is owed to you; allowance begins with what can now be.
This is not a concept for those who have not considered that what they do, every day in every way, will forever affect the whole of us. Your actions, your words affect others.
We address and intend to uphold as a community when together in person or virtually what can no longer remain:
- That which divides (rather solutions, not exclusions),
- That which decreases another's presence (rather encourage)
- That which is unfounded (use numerous sources of evidence/discuss with respect what you can account for as proven)
- That which shames, that which is predatory, that which is persistent in one's own agenda (rather acknowledge boundaries that have been made clear to us - if any boundary is unclear, respectfully ask)
- That which is not inclusive of our allowances (rather we create a safe space together using respectful words and safer actions)
